To prevent the spread of infectious diseases, all students must be fully immunized. Immunizations are the best defense against some of the most common and sometimes deadly infectious diseases. Students in grades pre-K 3, kindergarten, 7 and 11 will be temporarily excluded from school if they are not up to date on their immunizations. Please note: An increase in measles activity nationwide makes it especially important for families to ensure their children are up to date with the MMR vaccine, which protects against measles, mumps and rubella. Measles is highly contagious and spreads easily in school and child care settings. Vaccination is the best protection to limit outbreaks and prevent serious illness and, in some cases, death. Families who are unsure if their child is up to date with the MMR vaccine, or who have questions about timing or eligibility, should immediately check with their child’s primary healthcare provider.
